This past weekend I made my first pumpkin cocktail (it was not as delicious as the pumpkin martini from The Chapel last year) and I carved a pumpkin (Tori would want you to believe that her pumpkin was the best but I think I gave her a run for her money.) I also met up with a good friend that I have not seen in over a year for lunch and a pumpkin cupcake in Tacoma (and I don’t hate Tacoma, not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.) Apparently, I also had a lot of parenthetical thoughts over weekend but I digress.
Day 35 – Pumpkin Chai Confection from Theo Chocolate. I had to eat about three of these things because I was convinced it was peanut butter instead of the pumpkin chai. It was not my favorite Theo creation.
Day 36 – Pumpkin Cocktail. My lovely cousin, Traci, ripped this recipe out of the Southwest Airlines magazine for me. The drink called for 4 ounces of hot water, 2 ounces of rum and 1 teaspoon of pumpkin butter. I used about 1 tablespoon of pumpkin butter and it was still rather boring. It was like tea, but with rum… and pumpkin. Also, the picture showed the drink as a thick, dark drink and mine was thin and pale. I apparently made the emo version and it was soooo tragic.
Day 37 – Hello, Cupcake. No seriously, hello. The butter cream frosting a caramel swirl and it was ever so tasty. If you are in Tacoma, please treat yourself to a cupcake. By the by, they are only $2.25. Suck on that, Cupcake Royale & Trophy Cupcake.
Day 38 – Kemmer Pumpkin Pie Cake. Made with love. And lots of pecans. (see recipe below.)
Day 39 – Leftover pumpkin and black bean soup. I love this soup. I especially love this soup while watching So You Think You Can Dance. (Hmm, I wonder how Cat Deeley feels about pumpkin.)
Day 40 – Pumpkin Dip to share!!! Stop by my office around lunch time and you, too, can enjoy some pumpkin today. You’re welcome.
